Chat on Mythblock is translated between German and English, so you can talk with every player on the server in your own language.

Start a message with ! to skip translation

Messages that begin with ! are never translated.

How it works

When another player writes in the other language, you see their message translated into your reading language. On Java you see the original when you hover over the line. On Bedrock the original is shown as an extra line. Translation covers public chat, private messages with /msg and /r, and the chat relay between Discord and the game. Messages need at least 2 and at most 256 characters to be translated. The translation runs on a self-hosted LibreTranslate instance on the Mythblock server itself. English is the fallback language.

Incoming has three modes: auto translates every line, click translates a line when you click it, and off shows everything as written. /lingo without arguments opens the settings menu. The server does not detect the language of each message. Instead, it learns which language you write in: once 5 of 8 messages are in one language, it suggests that language as your writing language. On your first join you get a one-time hint about these settings.

Better translations

Click a translated line to suggest a better translation. You can send 5 suggestions per hour once you have played for 30 minutes. A suggestion is accepted automatically after 3 votes.

The language codes are de and en. /lingo also works as /jexlingo and /translation.
