Minions are workers you place on your island: each one produces a single item on its own, across 35 types and eleven tiers, so your island keeps producing while you mine, fight or log off.
Crate minions run at 50%
Every minion from a crate, a kit or the battle pass produces at 50% of the normal rate. Craft its next tier at the workbench and it becomes a crafted minion at 100%.
How it works
Place a minion and it fills its internal storage with its item. Open the minion menu with /island minion to empty one minion, or pull every minion's storage into your inventory with /island minion collect.Minions stay on your island when a season resets.
Production per tier
Most minions run on the standard curve below, multiplied by a fixed factor for their type. The Oneblock Miner has its own curve. Tiers III, VI and IX raise speed only and keep the storage of the tier before.

The standard group is the Cobblestone, Redstone, Copper, Netherrack, Sand, Gravel, End Stone, Wheat, Carrot, Potato, Melon, Sugar Cane, Cactus, Cocoa, Mushroom, Nether Wart, Zombie, Spider and Fishing Minion. The half-rate group is the Coal, Iron, Lapis, Quartz, Glowstone, Pumpkin, Skeleton and Lumen Minion.Diamond, Emerald and Enderman Minions have a 10% chance of a bonus yield. The Hub Minion pays out Synergy Splitters: half of its produced count.
What changes the rate
Three things set the real rate, and they multiply: the island owner's activity, the minion's efficiency and its speed bonuses. Activity follows the island owner, not the player standing next to the minion.

Offline production is settled when the owner joins. While the owner is AFK, the Oneblock Miner credits only 10% of its blocks to phase progress, and AFK minions skip disruptions and Oneblock Miner loot rolls.Efficiency is 100% for crafted minions and 50% for crate minions.Speed bonuses from fuel, the Speed perk, synergy, the Minion Catalyst, Minion Rush and island events add up to one total bonus. The more you stack, the less each extra percent adds: +25% gives ×1.24, +100% gives ×1.85, +200% gives ×2.46, and the speed never goes above ×4.
Unlocking types
The Cobblestone Minion, the Oneblock Miner and the Hub Minion are free. Every other minion unlocks when your lifetime collection of the item it produces reaches the tier below. /island minion catalog shows each type with its unlock state, tiers and recipe.

Crafting and tier-ups
Every minion recipe uses the 5x5 grid of the workbench. A Compressed item is 400 of the raw item, and an Enchanted item is 50 Compressed.
Tier I: 24 Compressed of the minion's item around a stack of 3 Diamond tools in the centre. Use a pickaxe for most minions, a shovel for Sand and Gravel, a hoe for farming minions and the Fishing Minion, and a sword for combat minions. Merge the three tools into one stack with /stack first.
Tier II to XI: the previous-tier minion in the centre, ringed by Compressed or Enchanted items of its output. The ring for Tier II is worth about 40 hours of the previous tier's output, the ring for Tier XI about 795 hours. The recipe view in the catalogue shows the exact ring.
Season start: during the first 14 days of a season, tier-ups take 30% less material.
For the standard group every ring fills 24 cells. The table shows how many items go into each cell. Slower minions need fewer cells and smaller stacks.

Crafting a tier-up from a crate minion gives a crafted minion at 100%.
The Hub Minion is crafted from 96 Synergy Splitters, 16 Gold Block and 48 Glowstone. Its tier-up puts the previous Hub in the centre with 24 cells of Synergy Splitters: 6 per cell for Tier II, 3 more per cell with each tier, up to 33 per cell for Tier XI.
Oneblock Miner
The Oneblock Miner produces the block of your island's current phase and pushes your phase forward. You can place one per island, within 6 blocks of the OneBlock on each axis. Its phase progress is capped at 750 block-breaks per island per day.
It has no recipe. Vote, Shadow, Season and Dragon crates and three kits give a Tier I Oneblock Miner at 50% crate efficiency. It is the only minion that tiers up by merging: put two of the same tier together in its menu. The Hub Minion cannot merge.

Eclipse pass: +1 slot on normal islands while the island owner is online.
Mastery: you earn 1 mastery for every minion you place and every tier-up. The first extra slot needs 1 mastery, the second 3, the third 6, the fourth 10.
Minion Expander: +1 permanent slot per item. Right-click it on your island. Recipe: 1 Ender Chest, 4 Diamond Block and 1 Nether Star.

The Compactor I block forms cover coal, raw iron, raw gold, raw copper, iron, gold and copper ingots, diamond, emerald, redstone and lapis.
The Smelter turns raw iron, gold and copper into ingots, sand into glass, cobblestone into stone and netherrack into nether brick. The Super Smelter adds clay ball to brick, cactus to green dye, stone to smooth stone, potato to baked potato and kelp to dried kelp.
The Auto-Seller sells only the overflow that does not fit into storage, at 15%, 30%, 45%, 60% or 75% of the base sell price for tiers I to V, times the market index. The coins collect on the minion until you claim them.

Ember is crafted from 8 Coal and 1 Blaze Powder. Each higher fuel uses the one below it as an ingredient. Ember also comes from crates and the battle pass, and fuels drop from the Oneblock Miner's loot vault. A minion without fuel takes one from an adjacent container.
The Minion Catalyst gives every minion on your island +25% speed for 60 minutes. Recipe: 1 Glowstone, 8 Blaze Powder, 12 Glowstone Dust and 4 Synergy Splitters.
Levels and perks
A minion earns 1 XP per item it produces and levels up to level 20. Level 1 needs 200 XP, and each level after that needs more, growing with the square of the level. Every level gives one perk point.

Bonuses flatten as they stack, and the total stays between -50% and +100%. Penalties count in full. An Obsidian Minion next to a crowded group halves the overcrowding penalty.
Some neighbours pause each other for 30 to 90 seconds. An Enderman Minion can pause a neighbour and take 1 to 3 Ender Pearls, a Spider Minion can pause a farming neighbour, and a Nether minion can pause an Ice Minion next to it. A Hub Minion in range halves the chance.

Tips
Why does my minion from a crate produce so little?
Minions from crates, kits and the battle pass run at 50% efficiency. Craft the next tier at the workbench and the result is a crafted minion at 100%.
Why did my minions slow down while I stood still?
If the island owner is AFK, every minion on the island runs at 50% and the Oneblock Miner credits only 10% to phase progress. Offline, the rate drops to 1/8.
Where should I place the Oneblock Miner?
Within 6 blocks of the OneBlock on each axis. Only one fits per island, and its phase progress stops at 750 block-breaks per day.
Is it worth upgrading during the first days of a season?
Yes. In the first 14 days of a season every minion tier-up takes 30% less material.
