The Composter is a placeable machine that converts organic waste into cheap terrain blocks (dirt, sand, gravel, clay, mud). Feed it compostable items, fill the meter, and collect the output. It is economically safe by design: output is terrain only.
In short
Craft a Composter at the 5x5 Workbench and feed it organic items to produce terrain blocks. Upgrade through 5 tiers to lower the fill threshold and increase batch output.
How it works
Craft a Tier 1 Composter at the 5x5 Workbench.
Place it on your island (right-click to position).
Feed organic items by right-clicking the placed composter. Each item adds points to the meter.
When the meter fills, the composter produces a batch of terrain blocks.
Collect the output by right-clicking again.
You can place up to 4 composters per island.
Tiers
Higher tiers lower the fill threshold and increase batch output. Tiers 2 and 3 are upgraded directly in the composter GUI using island bank Coins. Tiers 4 and 5 require crafting at the 5x5 Workbench with Composter Upgrade Cores (obtained from crates).

Composter Upgrade Cores drop from crates. You cannot buy them with Coins. Save them for the T4 and T5 crafts.
