The quest journal holds 106 quests in 11 categories, from a 6-quest tutorial to 8 master quests, and every quest pays coins, XP and themed items.
Two different systems
/quest opens the quest journal described here. /island quests opens the story questline, which is a separate system.
How it works
Open the journal with /quest, pick a quest and accept it. You can have 1 quest active at a time. Most quests can be done once. Daily and weekly quests repeat after their cooldown.

Every quest adds themed items on top. Quest coins are smaller than island task coins: an Extreme quest pays 10,000 coins, the same as the lowest daily task.
Daily and weekly quests
The 12 daily quests pay 100 XP and 500 coins each and come back 24 hours after you finish them, with no limit on how often. The 8 weekly quests pay 400 XP and 2,000 coins each and come back after 7 days.

Tips

You can have 1 quest active at a time. Finish or abandon the active one first.
Which quests pay the most?
The 8 master quests: 10,000 coins and 1,500 XP each.
Is /island quests the same journal?
No. /island quests is a shortcut to the story questline. Use /quest for the quest journal.
